Mellen Investment Company, LLC is an owner-managed company, established in 1986 out of, and very much embodying, the spirit of the Pacific Northwest region it occupies. Its investments in multifamily real estate (garden and townhome style apartments), which have primarily been in Anchorage, Alaska, are located in places where tenants can take advantage of the best the region has to offer, including: incredible national, state and local parks; hiking, skiing, running, boating, biking and other outdoor recreation; freshly caught fish; and really tall, picturesque, snow covered mountains.

Mellen built its business by carefully selecting its properties and tenants, with an eye to building a sense of local community at each of its locations. Throughout its existence, Mellen has self-managed its properties, with full time property management and full time maintenance teams that report directly to the owners. By self-managing its units, Mellen is able to provide a level of service and maintain standards that are usually many steps above other landlords. And, because Mellen acquires and maintains its buildings with a plan to hold them for a long term, we are eager to invest in the quality of our facilities. As a result, our facilities also are steps above their counterparts. Tenants often refer their family members and friends to us; it is not unusual for former tenants moving back to the area to call us first, just to see if we have any vacancies.
